welcome to my 'how was your day?' series — where i share the days that stick with me. sometimes it's a day so good it becomes a core memory, other times it's one that shifts something inside me in ways i'm still figuring out. the kind of days that refuse to fade into the blur of life, you know? i'm putting mine out there, and honestly, i'd love to hear about yours too. so kick back and let's catch up like we always do.

After getting the kid and the husband out of the door, I did a content request from one of the seven girlfriends. She wanted to gear up our annual trip.
So after setting up the tripod real quick, I drove down to the art museum downtown for the morning blends series. Two live jazz band sets, with a DJ spinning in between.

This is my second time this month attending this weekly june series. I made sure my husband could join me this time.
It was a really good way to start the day. We ran into some friends, drank coffee, and he read the local papers. I read my book.
It was an amazing start to the day.

I swing past a clinic to pick up JJ’s ankle braces. We got a new sleeker design this time. Excited for the kid.
11:02a
Stopped past Anthropologie to get a gift for a girlfriend’s birthday. She is having a garden party at 6p today.
I actually never shopped at Anthropologie until I moved to Columbia. I never understood what people saw in it. But now I get it. And I gotta stay out this store.
11:32a
Walked next door to Lululemon to grab a Father’s Day gift.
11:55a
After a quick stop through Fabrik — another gem I’ve discovered here — I grabbed some lunch at such a southern staple spot, Chick Salad Chick. I also never ate chicken salad like that until moving here.
1:00p
I made it home about 10 minutes before I had a team call. I don’t think I could ever go back to having strict working hours, UNLESS it’s something that I am incredibly passionate about. The space in my day is just too good right now.
2:12p
I snuck a 30-minute run in with my favorite Peloton instructor, Kirsten!
3:00p
My sitter picked JJ up from school today, and they pulled up just as his Early Interventionist arrived for his appointment.
5:51p
I’m sitting in the parking lot of REI, taking 10 minutes to myself to read my book.
After JJ’s session, I finished up a little work and then got ready for my friend’s birthday garden party.
Since I am the on-time friend, I am usually the first to arrive, but the invitation said 6 p.m., and I didn’t want to be that on time. Sometimes showing up exactly at the start time of an event can make hosts feel a little rushed, so my on-time is usually 5-10 minutes after.
I sat in my car and finished the chapter I started at Chick Salad Chick earlier today. I keep my book with me at all times, because you never know when you might have a spare 10 minutes to read.
6:20p
After helping the birthday girl/host with a few last-minute set-up details — i am also that friend too — it was time to finally try what the internet girlies are calling the drink of the summer.
Sauvignon Blanc with fresh sliced jalapeños.
It was refreshing and delicious. I think I will definitely add a jalapeño to any cold drink I have this summer. After the Sauvi ran out, we moved on to other wines or bubbles, and the jalapeño fit in perfectly with it all.

10:13p
I pulled into my garage.
Moving to a new city as an adult can be challenging, but I’ve managed to find my way and meet some truly amazing people who have become friends along the way.
How was your day?!
Let’s chat in the comments.
